SonoroSempre

is our registered trading name to cover our entire range of orchestral stringed instruments - Violin, Viola, Cello & Double Bass which is our carefully selected range bought directly from our long standing and trusted instrument makers. We use Etudiant (Student) to generally cover the various levels of instrument depending on whether you’re a young musician starting out or an accomplished player.

We use French names to head the ranges as this gives a quality, style and professional image that we know we can offer our customers.

Etudiant Stratifie (EST) – veneered spruce laminate, very affordable, well made quality and surprisingly good sounds and tones, covers all instruments from violin to double bass.

Etudiant (E) – the standard classic schools entry level range covering all sizes to enable the children to learn and advance confidently on their musical journey. The ‘E’ range doesn’t stop at one model, the glossy varnish finish. There are indeed four distinctly different models to select all with their different and attractive varnish shades and finishes, so there’s a model to suit your tastes in your desire to learn.

Intermediaire (EIN) – a clever yet affordable range taking the player further with these highly versatile, made from aged tonewoods, rewarding the advancing player as they go forwards in their higher music exam grades.

These models respond very well to string upgrades too, allowing you to explore your music making on a lower budget, without buying expensive instruments.

Avance (EA) – as the name suggests the player can find higher levels of instrument to meet their own abilities and achieve much more in their music making journey. Rewarding instruments for players 'going places' in their music discovery, in grades, performances, experimenting with string choices, maybe a bow upgrade all possible with these versatile affordable Avance instruments.

Progressif (EOS) – Instruments that sit comfortably in orchestra and in soloist playing. These instruments, made from further aged tonewoods, represent a good investment, both in terms of sound and tone colours and its value too. An instrument to give much pleasure and one to be proud to own for a long time to come.

Maitre Maestro (MM/MMEU) – The top of instrument making in the SonoroSempre range. Made be dedicated master luthier from highly selected best European tonewoods, giving the player a chance to acquire a beautiful instrument in every way with the highest rewards.

Arcofacile – Now you are bowing!

Arcofacile, a registered tradename for GDfViolins&Accessories means 'easy bowing' so you know what you can expect from our range of orchestral stringed instrument bows. These bows are our standard found exclusively in our early level outfits. They are very well made so they stand alone as great replacements for outfits with poorer quality bows, so a great replacement bow giving the young player more fluidity and confidence.

As the models upgrade they would match the hand skills of the player allowing for a better balanced bow to give a higher level of performance and range of tempi in the stick's speed.

All bows are made by dedicated bow makers who we have known for many years and fall into these complimentary categories matching you instrument:-

Entry & Intermediate – Quality Brazilwood half-lined

Advanced & Orchestra – Highest grade Brazilwood fully lined frog often silver

Orchestra & Soloist – Better selected level of Pernambuco silver lined, purer ebony and abalone shell

Carbon Fibre - Alternative material using excellent hair, frog highly decorated, fully lined with bright mother of pearl slide on an engineered well balanced stick. Finish plain, matt or sheen

Pernambuco veneered - to a carbon fibre core, engineered stick with highly decorative MoP to the slide, polished nickel linings, featuring the beauty of the natural grain of the pernambuco

Baroque Bows - made from the traditional Snakewood for both bow stick in the elegant traditional style and the frog slides and screw are made from the same wood.

Branded Bows - many high quality bows

are alternatively offered including several made in Europe from within our Arcofacile – branded accessories section and found on the GDfV&A full service tab at the top of the home page. Most of these bows are supplied to customers orders.
